No need to worry if he licks the area. Because this is all natural and organic, licking should not be an issue. Having said that, just like humans, dogs may be sensitive to certain oils so if your dog seems to have digestive issues due to intense licking always seek the advice of your veterinarian.
Gently clip the fur that is covering the area. Making sure fur is away from area allows air and ointment to reach the wound.
Use dry finger to obtain a very small amount of pigment to affected area. Applying to damp area on skin helps for absorption. Gently rub in. Do not use wet fingers in product.
Those little tiny beads you may see in your product occur most often in the summer months, but changes in temperature as the product solidifies can happen any time of year. These concentrated beads of organic and unrefined Shea Butter WILL MELT as you massage the product into your lips or skin.
